Cookie policy

Under review

This text is still under review, and the details of the company responsible will be published soon.

Last updated: October 27, 2026.

This is a translation of the Portuguese version of this policy. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.

This policy explains which cookies and other data stored in your browser Indicora (indicora.com) uses, what for, for how long, and how you accept, refuse or change your choice. It complements the Privacy Policy, which covers personal data in general.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files the site stores in your browser. They let the site remember you from one page to the next, for example to keep you signed in. We also cover local storage (localStorage) here, which plays a similar role.

We use three categories: necessary cookies, which the site needs to work; measurement cookies, which count how the site is used; and advertising cookies, which allow ads to be shown and measured. Only the necessary ones work without your consent.

2. Necessary cookies

Without them, sign-in and basic preferences do not work, so they do not depend on consent and cannot be switched off in the banner. They are all first-party: set by Indicora on the indicora.com domain.

  • __Host-ind_session: keeps you signed in after login. It cannot be read by JavaScript (HttpOnly), only travels over an encrypted connection and lasts 30 days, renewed on each use. Removed when you sign out.
  • __Host-ind_oauth: exists only during the Google sign-in, for up to 10 minutes, and protects against forgery of Google's response.
  • ind_hint: only says whether there is a session and whether you are a supporter, so the menu can adjust without waiting for the server and the site knows whether to show ads. It can be read by JavaScript, lasts 30 days and authorizes nothing by itself: the server is what confirms your account.
  • ind_locale: stores the language you chose in the footer (Portuguese or English). It is only set when your choice differs from your browser's language, and lasts 1 year.
  • ind_consent: stores the choice you made in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again on every visit. It lasts 1 year. The same choice is also kept in your browser's local storage.

Local storage also holds your light or dark theme preference. It stays in your browser only and is not sent to us.

3. Measurement cookies

Measurement cookies help us learn, in aggregate, which pages are read and how the site is used. If we start using a tool that sets cookies for this, it will only be loaded after you consent, and this page will be updated with the name, purpose and duration of each cookie. Until then, the site sets no measurement cookies.

4. Advertising cookies

The site may show Google ads (AdSense). For that, Google may set third-party cookies in your browser, such as __gads and __gpi, among others that it defines and may change, to limit ad repetition, measure ad performance and, if you consent, personalize ads. These cookies follow Google's advertising policy.

  • We use Google Consent Mode v2 with everything denied by default: until you accept the advertising category, the ad script is not even loaded and no advertising cookie is set.
  • Supporters who are signed in do not see ads.
  • Ads are the advertisers' responsibility and are not a recommendation by Indicora.

5. Cookies from other services you visit

Two steps leave our domain and have their own cookies, governed by each company's policy: signing in, on the Google account page, and paying for the supporter subscription, in Stripe's environment. Indicora does not control those cookies.

6. How to change your choice

On your first visit, the cookie banner asks for your choice by category. The optional categories (measurement and advertising) start switched off, and "Reject" is as prominent as "Accept". Refusing does not stop you from reading the site or using your account.

To review or change your choice at any time, use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page. The new choice applies from then on and you can change it as many times as you like. Withdrawing consent does not affect what was done before it.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The necessary cookies are what keeps you signed in: if they are blocked, the site stays readable, but you cannot sign in to your account.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the cookies we use change or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. Questions can be sent through our contact page.
